A year dedicated to children
written on the 18.12.2024By the end of the year 2024, we will have welcomed and helped around 170 children, suffering from complex pathologies and coming from approximately twenty countries where medical resources are insufficient. Thanks to the professional commitment of the team at La Maison, the collaboration of our institutional and medical partners (HUG, CHUV, Hôpital Riviera-Chablais, Clinique Hirslanden) et au soutien de nombreux bénévoles et prestataires du domaine de la santé, ces enfants ont bénéficié d’un accompagnement complet tout au long de leur parcours de guérison.
Every treatment we provide, every smile we see and every sense of serenity we feel, reminds us of the fundamental impact of our mission, which began in 1963, and which aims at giving children their future back.
A year of hope and healing
It always moves us to see the children who stayed at La Maison go back home. They leave healed and relieved, happy to return to their families, friends and daily lives. The older children were able to return to school or their training, which had been interrupted by their illness. The younger children rediscovered the joy of running, playing and simply being children, just like their peers. For these children, the trip to Switzerland was their last chance to receive life-saving treatment, which would have been impossible in their home countries.
The strength of shared trust
Every child welcomed at La Maison brings joy to our team. But behind every smile is a story of courage: the families’ courage. The parents who entrust us with their child show incredible strength. They endure the pain of separation to give their son or daughter a chance of recovery. Every day we recognise the importance of their trust and do everything we can to live up to their hopes. Together, thanks to your support, we continue to move forward, driven by a mission that transcends borders: to care for, support and give back a future to the children who need it the most.
The strength of our volunteers
We would like to pay tribute to and thank our volunteers, who offer their time, energy and kindness to everything we do. Whether it’s helping with the children’s daily lives, organising events or performing a wide range of activities, your commitment is the cornerstone of our mission. We hope to able to continue to count on you in 2025 for this beautiful adventure.
